A very nice tablet...worth buying

I just recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (P3110, Wi-Fi, 16 GB).Though I didn't bought it from Flipkart, I'm still writing the review of it as the tablet really impressed me.

First of all let me clear one thing this tablet has NO CALLING FEATURE, there is NO SLOT FOR SIM CARD.You can only use internet Via Wi-Fi or a dongle.So people don't get confused with P3110 & P3100 (Which has a call facility, & the price is 5k more!)

So here is the Pros & Cons of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2...

Pros -

1) Stunning looks.Its really crafted very nicely.
2) Awesome screen, I don't know why some people in various websites are saying that the screen is not good.I mean you can't compare a 14k tablet's display to iPad's Retina display.
3) Touch is very smooth, with 1 GB DDR3 RAM & Dual Core 1 GHz processor all apps are running very smoothly.
4) You can update to Jelly Bean.
5) Camera can record 720p videos.
6) Have Bluetooth.

Cons -
1) No USB charging.
2) The default video player can't play the HD audio which are encoded in DTS.It only plays the video so you gets NO SOUND.Don't know why it happens, even the Micromax Funbook's Super HD player plays all these DTS encoded full HD flies smoothly! For these types of file you have to convert it or use other players like BS Player.
3) Speakers are positioned wrongly, it should have place at two end of the tab instead of one end.
4) The audio player is not giving the thumping output, the sound quality is mild.Even a good pair of headphones are not able to get good sound from it.Equalizer is very bad.

NO CALLING FEATURES!
now my review
once you hold the tab,you realise that its a bit on the heavier side,with the tab weighing 344 grams,this is heavier than the ipad mini,which has a full aluminium body and a 0.9 inch larger screen
so weight wise samsung could have done something better.

heating-after using the tab for around half an hour..it gets pretty much heated up..so samsung fares poorly in terms of heating

battery life-not bad,could have been a bit better

the jellybean-one word-AMAZING
its so smooth!

the internal memory-12.5 GB is available because of known reasons

1GB of ram is honestly more than enough,games like temple run work like a charm

the 1Ghz dual core processor-samsung could have improved the processor-1.2 would have been so good

the 3.2 mp camera is utterly terrible,5mp should have been a must when samsung was making the tab

Resolution-beautiful,the brightness is more than enough when put bang in the middle in the brightness scale,brightness in lowest looks like a kindle...lol

final verdict-
things like the camera makes this tab a bit,well..on the lower side,but i dont care...im not into taking photos

but the rest of the features for 13.9 k make this tablet seriously a strong contendor for reputed companies like the huawei and lenovo

and the cheap tablets

for calling features,buy the 19k tab p3100,but holding the monster looks bizarre

Extremely Nice Hardware at 14K....

It may not be the best around the market but at 14K this is the best deal in my opinion, Nice Response, Good Processing Speed, Good GPU, Excellent Screen, Large Storage, these will never make you feel bad...

Now some of them claim that Mali400 GPU is more fast than SGX540, ya I agree but behind the scene there is one more thing that people ignore that is the Chipset that backs it, if you use All-winner Chip equipped with Mali400 then you will never try to use Mali400, here this dude is backed up with TI (Texas Instruments) OMAP4430 in which PowerVR SGX540 works extremely Great for High End games.

The screen is a PLS (Plane-to-Line Switching) with 16M colors is the new version of IPS by Samsung so you will get a good color depth and also better viewing angle than IPS.

Not going to other technicalities as it has a lot to talk about, I suggest you to use it by yourself and experience it, you will feel the difference.... Until then thanks for reading........

decent buy

Delivery: Very prompt, within 72 hrs, but seal was broken. May be FK folks opened it to put a free screen protector.

Build: Not rock solid but good enuf for adult use.

Targeted customers: book enthusiasts, those wanting to be always connected to social media, email, movie buffs, music(listening) buffs

Satellite radio: Quite honestly, AIR / radio mirchi better. I could not find a carnatic channel in the free 6 month subscription. Sad about it :( ... Plus its not really "satellite" radio. What you get is streaming audio.

Display: Superb. Best in class.

Issues: Screen goes berserk. FK TECHSupport advised a hard reset. After hard reset & complete cache swipe, problem reduced 90%. I still think, it occurs occasionally when camera is used. But believe me, this is still a great device.

Camera: 2x2 2 MP cam not great.

Novelties: Absent. No FM radio, no GPS. Not suitable for serious multimedia game buffs. Simple games work great though.

Performance: Superb, best in class. Apps don't lag at all. Touch screen is a breeze(only after hard reset). Huge battery lasts >1 day even on continuous use. Ample storage. No bloatware. Play store works like a breeze.

Great for professionals who want to be connected from home and don't want to spend 30+ k for a 10 inch tablet.

I have not tested bluetooth & Hdmi.

I am able access my windows xp & windows 7 computers from this using playstore RDC apps.

Excellent tablet

I happened to have a look at this tablet accidently. But after having purchased it I am very much satisfied with the tab.

The tab is very built built and functions like a chram. The look and feel is as good as best in the market and that also at a price around half of the same. The USB 3G connects automatically without any glitch and functions smoothly. The tab is compatible with Google play hence after you are connected to internet you can download any app of your choice and add functionality to the tab.

The Screen response to touch is very good and speed is also very nice. Over all absolutely no negative points and only positives. Can compete easily with the best without hurting the pocket.

Being a startup venture it is not as visible in market as other brands ( may be due to less marketing muscle) but is no inferior to anyone of them. Whether you buy it or not that is different thing, but it is definitely worth a look. And if you believe words then just go for it.

for those who want performance

Hi guys I bought this tab with high expectations,the performance of this tab is far superior to others but the build quality is worse than any other.
I have played dark knight and modern combat4 believe me guys this tablet is meant to run these type of games without any lag.
only draw back is the build quality and the accesories that came with it i dont know wether they are replaced by other cheap accessories.
and one more thing the tablet is not showing the exact capacity of the battery it varies from time to time.
I want one thing from eaft that to update this tab with jelly bean or fix the bugs related with the screen lock button.

A good tablet
I ordered this tab on 24th night and the delivery from flipkart was very fast that i got it on 27 th afternoon. So, from the delivery perspective a heads up to flipkart.
Pros:
1) Processer: 1.5 GHz dual core looks very effective
2) RAM: 1GB Ram (this is same as we get in most of the tablets now)
3) Experienced good Multi tasking with no hanging
4) Video: Quality of display is good and meets the expectation mentioned in the specification
5) Micro SD slot and Mini USB port
6) battery backup seems to be very good.

Cons:
1) Camera: Quality is not good
2) Volume: Volume of the tab is very very low. (I would check this in the coming days and keep posted. But nobody in the review has mentioned about this. Hope to get comments on this)
3) Some of the preinstalled apps like google+ not installed properly. (May be this is in my case)

Overall i would i would say this a good tab to buy but better to check reviews on the volume and camera of this tab to get more info

Great Tablet

I have always used Karbonn products, be it old bar style cell phones, or tabs. this tab is another marvel from karbonn.

Points in favor are:

1. great 1.4 ghz dual core processor
2. 1 gb RAM
3. huge internal storage
4. 9.7 inches screen, which is like an ipad supporting great graphics
5. connectivity by dongles, which is why i can use it with my tata photon
6. android jellybean
7. wifi enabled
8. good preloaded apps like tv viewing

points against are,
1. no sim connectivity
2. poor camera quality

so within this budget, this is a steal. and they have got good service centres also, i can say from my experience

and flipkart service is great. so go for it

@venkatesh, any ipad cover/pouch will work for it. so do not worry

one of d best budget tablets.......

Ordered it on 7th October and received it on 12th october.......as usual Flipkart's delivery service was impeccable....
The carry care is not at all worth for Rs.1000......It looks pretty cheap...
Finally about the tablet....
Pros:
1. Screen is delight to watch videos and read e-book.(maybe because its 10.1 inches). good contrast and brightness.
2. wifi connectivity is good.
3. Basic games and apps are running flawlessly.(kudos to android).
cons:
1.certainly not for multi-tasking. Hangs frequently during multitasking.(Blame its Basic processor).
Final verdict:
Purchase it if you are calm, peace loving, patient person.

Micromax Funbook Pro 10.1 In

I bought this for my father. He finds the size good to read and work on the tablet.
Pros:
1. Processor,
2. Screen Size and Resolution.
3. Price.
4. Performance : Have played temple run, Fifa, Commando etc on this, Though Loading time takes a while, once loaded its a breeze.
5. Weight.



Cons:
1. Battery life, Gives something like 4.5 hours but then price to performance its not a deal breaker.

The Case provided by flipkart is not worth the value, its tacky and bad quality for the price.

Good Budget tablet

Before buying this tablet i saw few reviews about bad touch,
but i dont experience any touch lagging problems touch is good.

browsing is not so smooth in web browsers, zooming/pinching the browser pane is also not so smooth.

Performance of the applications and games are smooth.

full sound is very less than expected.
default case cover is not so bad, but this cover blocks entire sound speakers which will again decrease volume of this device.

there is a lag in auto-rotating of the video display.

Overall, device is good to buy for this budget and configuration.

Samsung annihilator.....

Hv ordered it on 11th Nov frm flipkart....the best thin u people need to know is that tha sametechnology Samsung is offering at a price of 22k and the advantages of hcl g1 over Samsung are as following

1.Mali quad core graphics card
2.bluetooth 4.
3.android 4.0.4 instead of honeycomb.
4.1gb DDR3 RAM.
5.1.2 GHz dual-core instead of 1ghz dual-core....
6.1080p fullhd video recording and playback....
7.and at 5_8 k cheaper than Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 and tab 750

Resolution is a bit less 1024/800 instead of 1280/720
If that's a good reason to buy then go ahead carp it money....

Awwsome tablet to buy.here r some feedback of a month usage
Pros:
1.very very smooth to use and play dual core nd quad core gpu shows its presence
2.screen is nice watch but not to die for few more pixels....
3. Battery life is good it gives me around 7hrs of continuous usage with 1080p movie (no lags), games and endless browsing with music in headphones.
4.price is competitive after disappointment from nexus 7 in india
5.brand value better than penta,micromax,wammy,iball etc

Cons: mostly software
1.no google play but 1mobile store will do the job
2.update to jelly bean not there but there are ways but after all ics experience is wonderfull
3.lack of screen gaurd in market can b felt can try ipad 2 screen protector and also comes with a awsom leather pouch

All in all thumbs up for the G1 tablet with 1.6 ghz processor a9 and mali 400 quad core gpu (yes it is rk3066 rockchip) and 9.7 inches ips display feels like tablet in hand nt a big phone with 7 inches screen

Best Choice in the 10 inch category

This tablet is VFM. The speed, the application, the ease of operations and the HCL brand name make this a super tablet.

The major cons are -

1) Unavailability of general accessories like scratch guard, case, compatible keyboard etc. I wonder why HCL did not offer these at additional cost.
2) The on/off button is at the back rather than being on the side.
3) The speaker volume is quite low.
4) Camera resolution is average (but this may not be important).

Pros -

1) Good configuration at this price
2) Excellent speed
3) Works with dongles for internet (look for compatible dongles like EC156 etc.) - The HCL support staff are helpful while advising this. I had to get my Photon+ dongle changed to use it in this tab.

To sum up - I should be able to replace my laptop with this tablet easily.

who says Quality is always pricey?

I have been using the mi8 since a about 4 - 5 days from now and here are my reviews about the product. I just want you all to know that I also use a samsung Galaxy tab and i reviewed this product based on that.

1) Memory: its a 4Gb tablet but the usable memory is only about 2Gb. rest is swallowed by the OS and the pre installed apps. It is pretty obvious that this is going to happen. Every tablet has this problem. i have installed a 16Gb memory stick in it and this machine works just awesome without any lags.

2) Processor: The 1.2Ghz dual core processor does its job superbly and lets you work smoothly without a single lag. Cherry on the cake is the 1Gb RAM. For those who think its wrong, i must say that they are wrong, it indeed is a 1Gb RAM. i played games like temple run and angry birds, and not even a single lag was there.

3) Battery : So far so good. 4 days and just charged 4times. worked on it almost for 5-6 hours each day with playing games, browsing internet, making calls, making skype calls and watching movies. The battery did not die once also.

4) Display/ Touch: 1024 x 768 pixels is surely too bright, and it never felt that i am using a tablet with a lesser known brand. touch is super smooth. you can easily compare it with samsung or other brands of tablets.

5) Camera : It may let you down, but i felt that does it really matter that much? nobody buys a tablet for clicking pictures, nor did i. The front camera did a good job of making skype calls and that too clearly :)

The tablet comes along with a leather case and samsung bluetooth. Both look and utility wise are awesome. This is a highly recommended product and at such price points, I feel its a MUST BUY.

At last, Flipkart Love you guys you are, this was the 1st time i bought something from flipkart and you have added a client now. Within 2days I had this device delivered at my place in a nice packaging. i will upload the video of this product soon.

Amazing!! Very Impressed!

I received this tablet today and was pleasantly surprised!. The tablet fits well in the hands, typing is really easy. Design is good and the finish is top class. I like the glossy white back. Response is very quick, it has 5 point multi touch screen. HD videos play very well, good quality screen – amazing resolution! I'm using a dolphin MTNL sim, didn’t expect such fast 3G speed. The tablet supports 2g and 3g calling. Milagrow even claims 4G, cannot try that yet :-P. But hats off Milagrow great work!!. High quality accessories (earphones with mic, mini-full USB converter). Called milagrow customer care, helped me with bluetooth file sharing – good support. Just need to buy a cover for this tab now. All in all very proud of our own Milagrow Indian brand, you can definitely compete against the big global companies. Will use more and share experience, thinking of gifting this tab to some family members! I definitely recommend this tab

Fantastic Tab

I'll leave out technical specs out of this review
Well I wasn't really going to spend more than 10k for a tablet which really narrowed my choices down to Micromaxx, Carbon, Penta ,Milagrow, Swipe etc. On actually viewing these products in the showroom I found their displays to be very shoddy except the Samsung Tab2 of course which had a fantastic display but was priced at 19.5-20k.Believe me ,if you use a half decent phone most of the tab displays are going to leave you really dissapointed.
Also I noticed that the tabs priced at 6 to 7k lagged incessantly even when loaded with a reasonable amount of apps
So the Mediapad is priced at 13.5 k,believe me it's worth the prices if you look at all the other tabs you've got in market(below 10K). The display is great and the performance is good too, the touch is great and with data usage on the tab lasts for a good 4 to 5 hours which is decent.
With the Nexus7 priced at 19.5 this remains the tab that gives you value for money and YES it does have an earphone!!!

Good Tablet...Rich looks!!!!

If compare this tablet with Reliance tab, Samsung tab, blackberry tab and any other that at this range then this is a best among all.

Using it form last 3 weeks and found good enough to perform.

Aluminium unibody is excellent and it resembles to ipad mini, even samsung is giving plastic body in galaxy tab.

Dont have inbuilt earphone, but if we put the sound of speaker phone down enough then can be use it as a earphone. I am using bluetooth or external earphone(came with media pad itself) for telephonic conversation.

The ViewPad 10e is ViewSonic's latest crack at the tablet market. The budget device takes a lot from the iPad but is sold at half the price of Apple’s latest tablet.

In terms of size and shape the ViewPad 10e is the same as Apple's iPad, bar a couple of millimetres here and there. It measures in at a respectable 242 x 189 x 9.1mm. It's a little bit lighter than the latest fruit-flavored rival at 620g, but is heavier than the iPad 2.
The design can be described simply as plain. The front looks similar to the iPad apart from three touch-sensitive buttons. The rear is black plastic with a pair of speakers at the bottom. Most of the buttons and ports can be found on the top side of the tablet.
We didn't appreciate the cheap sprung-loaded on/off slide switch which was frustratingly hard to use.
ViewSonic ViewPad 10e: Build quality

Our first sample suffered from a cracked case, perhaps where the unit had been dropped. Build quality of the replacement sample was reasonable for a cheap tablet. However, we weren't impressed with the flimsy plastic back which still came away all too easily from the chassis in one corner.
ViewSonic took another leaf out of Apple's book with the 9.7in capacitive touchscreen of 1024 x 768 resolution. That classic 4:3 aspect ratio is unusual; most Android copies use 16:9 screens.
The screen itself delivers a decent quality picture and only lacks slightly in brightness. Importantly, image quality remained good at all viewing angles.
Unfortunately the overall performance doesn't match up to the iPad's. The ViewPad 10e interface was sometimes smooth but more often than not frustrated us with its jerky transitions and slow loading times.
While an iPad demonstrably works very smoothly with the same specification of 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, similar hardware is clearly not up to the job required of it on this Android tablet.
Performance took a serious nose dive when we tried to even browse the web on the ViewSonic ViewPad 10e.

The Google Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system is long out of date now so it's thumbs down here.
ViewSonic has attempted to update this with its optional ViewScene 3D interface. The design looks good in a carousel-style arrangement, and it allows up to 15 home screens. You can also organise apps into folders and select from a handful of uninteresting ViewSonic widgets.
There's a major downfall in that there's no access to the Google Play Store, formerly the Android Market. Instead apps must be downloaded from 1Mobile Market, an independent online shop with a limited choice.
Google apps such as Maps, Gmail and YouTube aren't pre-installed on the ViewPad 10e but can be downloaded.

ViewSonic ViewPad 10e: Features

• Connectivity is a relatively strong point for the ViewPad 10e. The tablet has microUSB, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1. Additionally a Mini HDMI port means you should be able to hook up the tablet to a TV or monitor. 
• Storage isn't exactly extensive on the ViewPad 10e, as it offers just 4GB onboard. You can expand this via the microSD card slot, up to 32GB.
• Tablet photographers, if there really are such things, may be disappointed to hear that there is no rear-facing camera for shooting snaps. There is a 1.3Mp front-facing camera which can be used for video chat, taking pictures or recording video. 
• The quality is reasonable but the camera is stupidly placed at the top-right side of the device. If you hold the tablet in a regular way half of your profile is cut off in the picture.
• Battery life is quoted as five hours for video playback. We found that the battery quickly drained when we did any gaming or web browsing. After eight hours’ light use it had drained to around 50 percent.

Superb Samsung WiFi 10.1" Tablet - Detailed Info+Jelly Bean Info

NEW AND EDITED REVIEW AS OF January 20, 2013 of the P5113 WiFi only model for the US: On October 24, 2012, I bought this superb 10.1 easy to see tablet for reading emails, interneting and music, and so much more, which it does perfectly (and I like it MORE now than when I first purchased it)! (At that time it had ICS 4.03 and I updated the day received to 4.04) As of January 11, 2013, Samsung began rolling out the new Jelly Bean 4.1.1 OTA Over the Air update for both Tab 2 10.1 and Tab 2 7.0 WiFi only models). So I received my Jelly Bean update January 12, 2013 via over the air all 311MB (large sized upgrade) of it for this tablet. Regarding when you will receive the Jelly Bean update for your Tab 2 10.1 or 7.0, it may take time for you to receive it over the air--directly on your tablet as it has just recently began to update for the tablets). **If you are planning on buying a new tablet 10.1, then it may come with Ice Cream Sandwich, or it may already received the update to Jelly Bean.

BEST FEATURES: This tablet's size if perfect for reading emails, surfing the web, reading my Kindle books, and more! Although in my opinion, this exceptional Samsung Tablet does not fully replace a Laptop or Desktop, yet for quick browsing, checking emails, listening to music and reading ebooks, it is so much more portable and convenient than lugging around my 17.1" heavy laptop!
Please note that the NEWEST Adobe Flash Player NO LONGER SUPPORTS Android Devices in Android Tablets and Phone with ICS or higher! However, in the below discussion, there are a couple of ways you can install Adobe Flash Archive. This is not the fault of Samsung, it is an Adobe problem and since it can be "fixed", I still give this device 5 stars as listed below the reasons why:

MANY PROS OF THIS TABLET:

• Large and easy to read 10.1 inch screen. The colors are vivid and the text and videos are clear.
• Jelly Bean update came in on January 11, 2013 for this WiFi only tablet (which mine is P5113)(superb update, better update than the Jelly Bean for the 7 inch Tab 2 please see in the below comments why!) To see comments about Jelly Bean first, sort comments by NEWEST comments as there are right now 172 comments in this discussion).
• Slot for an micro SD Card. I placed a 32g in mine for music, files etc. And still have lots of room to add more music and files later.Please see my very detailed comments below in the discussion regarding the new Jelly Bean 4.1.1 update that IS NOW AVAILABLE OTA for this tablet).
• Battery life is pretty good if I get on and off the WiFi in a reasonable time. I usually get at least 8 - 10 hours using WiFi on and off. WiFi hogs the battery!
• The tablet runs very fast and it is very responsive in the internet and in apps, music etc.
• Music Player (stock) runs fine and it is very easy to place Playlists on it. Sound is loud enough without headphone, however, I listen to headphones for music, videos, etc.
• Wonderful Kindle Android App and I downloaded several Kindle books with no problems. Kindle loads fast and this Tablet is a joy to read a book on either Kindle or any eBook or PDF booklet.
• Installed Maxthon Browser and I like it better, it runs very fast with this tablet.
• All apps I installed run great and fast with no problems.
• The tablet feels like it is made well, however, to secure it better, I bought from Amazon a stand that I set it up in landscape mode and it has 3 positions. Keeps the tablet clean when I am not using it.
• So I give this this 6 stars, but take off one total star because of the minor cons listed below.
• Price - Reasonable for mid range Tablet with lots of features, speed, etc. I came close to buying the Galaxy Note 10.1 Tab with 32G but did not because it was $200 more, not worth it! Glad I chose the Tab 2 10.1 and saved myself $200!

VERY MINOR CONS OF THIS TABLET AND "FIXES":

• Uses a propriety USB cable/charger, but I bought extra cable/chargers online to keep an extra.
• No headset included (the new Galaxy Tabs DO NOT HAVE A HEADSET included. However, bought a Samsung headset on Amazon for the Galaxy Note and it fits this perfectly and has loud sound and very high quality (it was under 10 dollars). Also, eBay carries genuine Samsung 3.5 headsets as the generics are not that good of quality I have found).
• Very small instruction "manual" provided with the tablet, however, I went to the Samsung site and downloaded the full manual and saved it in PDF on my laptop for reading anytime I need it. If you want the link for the manual, let you know in the comments and I will give it to you.

Bottom line: Would I buy this WiFi only model over again? Yes I certainly would!!! For me, this WiFi only is perfect for me because I am close to WiFi 99% of the time when I use this tablet, and for emergencies, I have data on my much wonderful Samsung Galaxy Note 5 inch smartphone! So if you are looking for a superb Samsung 10.1 inch tablet and you have great access to WiFi, this is the one to buy. Note that there is quite a lot of information regarding how to do many things on this tablet that you will see in the comments below. Careful

When buying this tablet, keep this in mind; this is brand new but still old. Brand new in that it comes with the newest operating system factory installed and Samsung changed some of the specs to put a #2 next to the tablet name. This is old based on the fact that Samsung scraped a few design features off the original tablet to sell this one at a cheaper price tag. As of the first week of this tablet's release i have yet to find any downloadable software that would enable me to play movies on it(besides Google's play store of course). At this point tablets of this size are meant for entertainment; do not see how this is going to entertain someone when the only way to view videos is by already having them in the acceptable format or buying the them again from Google's store.

You cannot currently download the application HBO-go, Hulu+ is still not supported, and Amazon's streaming is still unsupported (all due at the moment to the flash support). So until they come up with the patch work to support streaming i wouldn't buy this tablet.

Yes, you can view websites. Music sounds great. YouTube is cool to watch clips of people doing strange things while eating your breakfast. Its nice to review my photos on a lightweight screen while sitting in bed.

This tablet will be AMAZING for the price point that it is when they fix the support issues. I would have thought this to been taken care of before the release date.

 My First Tablet

My mom bought last year's 8.9 model last week and I fell in love with it, so I bought the new 10.1 tab 2. This is my 4th day with it and I absolutely love it. I've been wanting a tablet for over a year(I love tech toys) and finally couldn't take messing around with one that wasn't mine so I had to buy one. I have a 17" laptop that only gets 1.5 hrs on a charge and wanted something smaller that I could do easy internet stuff like twitter, facebook, surfing, and listening to internet radio, podcasts, and music that was smaller and more mobile then my ginormous laptop. While shopping around I essentially looked at mid-priced android tablets, mostly because of my angst toward apple thanks to the awfulness of itunes software.

The other tablet that really caught my eye was the Asus Transformer TF300. You can do an easy google search to see where the transformer shines where the galaxy doesn't and vice versa. Ultimately storage space wasn't a huge deal for me and I really have no need for an hdmi out. What won me over the transformer is the display of the galaxy and it is night and day difference for me. Since browsing the internet is 90% of what I'll use a tablet for a great display, where samsung truly shines, was worth more to me then a better speced out transformer. For anyone looking to buy a new 10.1" tablet definitely give the transformer a look. I also would suggest looking at the Motorola Xoom.

Pros:

• size, probably one of the smaller 10.1" mid level tablets
• display is bright and crisp, text is very easy to read even when I have screen brightness all the way turned down infrared sensor that can be used to control your home entertainment center (a very nice option if you don't have a cool awesome logitech harmony remote)
• battery life has been great also among the top of the midlevel tablets(do a google search)

Cons:

•  long battery charge time, not a big deal as I'm mostly going to recharge at night
•  no stock hdmi out
•  the wtf so tiny charging cord, I mean really who wants a short charging cord? Makes no sense to me
•  no standard usb port, instead they have an applelike proprietary port
•  feels like for the price there should be some kind of hdmi out and 32 gb of hard drive space instead of 16

Because of the last con I can't give this tablet 5 stars, instead it gets 4.
